Don't get me wrong, I have a fun little idea percolating in the back of my mind, I just wasn't *quite* ready to settle down and start working on it, you know?
Anywho, the upshot of all this free time is that:
- I don't really have anything new and crafty to share (boo!),
- I do have a new facebook fan page (yay!), feel free to click *like* over there in the left column =) and...
- I do have a question for all you loyal followers and commenters for a chance to win some blog candy (DOUBLE YAY!).
Loyal Followers: Michey, get to the question already, we want CANDY!
Michey: Ok ok, geez, you guys mean business! ;-) So...
When you browse around on the blogosphere, how do you navigate around when you arrive at someone's blog? Do you use the long list of links that they may have along the sidebar, do you jump around the related posts to see what other projects they've worked on? What do you find works best for you?
I'm working on a redo of my happy little blogging home (yeah, I know, I really only *started* blogging and already I want to improve things... I can't help it, it's in my nature! >.<), and I want to focus my efforts on creating something that is pleasing for you to look at, but also pleasing for you to use, so I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts! Now's your chance to tell me how you *really* feel ;-)
There *may* even be a little blog candy for one lucky commenter, but you didn't hear that from me...
As luck would have it, I have a 6x6 pack of Ice Cream Parlor paper, ribbons, and buttons that is burning a hole in my pocket, so one lucky commenter will get to take it off my hands! If you missed this cute set during Sale-a-Bration, now's your chance to see what all the fuss was about!
Just leave a comment on this post (hopefully answering my blog-browsing question, but if you'd rather just chat about random things, that's fine too ;-) between now and Thursday at 5 PM to be entered for a chance to win.
Anywho, hope you all had a creative day! I certainly did, but it wasn't with paper or ink ;-)
Thanks for taking the time to share your blog travelling experiences with me!
michey
Hi Michey. Looks like I'm your first feedback on the blogosphere. First of all I do take breaks but mostly because I travel so can't do what I love while on the road. So, in lieu of the real thing I search the web. When I arrive at someone's site I usually scan their creations often through the "You might also like" button if something catches my eye. If they are really creative I like to check out who inspires them in their blog list and read their profile. The two things that absolutely turn me off when I'm looking at stamping blogs are (1) music.......... I listen to my own thanks, and (2) really busy, busy wallpaper on the blog, because it distracts me from what I came to see....... the creations. Okay that's my two cents (or rather one cent, LOL) worth. Oh and by the way............ I love your blog. Your creations are worth second, third and even fourth looks and your writing is fun and refreshing. Take a bow!
ReplyDeleteYou know, Penny, I couldn't agree more about music on blogs. 9 times out of 10, I do enjoy the playlist but it's sooooo distracting! Especially when you have to scroll allllllll the way to the bottom of the page to find the little player to turn it off >.< LAME!
ReplyDeleteAnywho, just wanted to pop in to agree with you and to thank you for being such a wonderful commenter =) You always have such wonderful things to say! It's really a treat ;-)
PS - don't worry, folks, I won't be entering myself for a chance to win my own blog candy O_o
I don't stamp every day. I view all the blogs i follow in google reader, makes it very quick for me to see all the posts with very little clicks. However that means I don't see anything on he blog but the post itself unless its a card I like so much I click to comment.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more with you regarding the music. I would sometimes look at work while at lunch or on break and if I got to one with music I had to exit immediately! I look at the latest creation and if I have never visited that blog I might scroll down to some other posts. Not crazy about really dark backgrounds. It makes it very hard to read the print. Also if it is too busy I get distracted. I try to leave comments as I enjoy getting them. They at least let me know someone stopped by! I have been enjoying your blog very much.
ReplyDeleteYes, downtime is much needed - and deserved - after an event!
ReplyDeleteI might find someone's blog via a google search, then go to her home page or look at the categories. ...I really like how your blog is categorized by stamp set, tool, theme and color. (Well, I don't have to explain your blog to you, LOL!) I might just get lost here for a while except that it's time for the kids to get home from school.
I've really enjoyed reading your posts. We share a similar style, I think. Keep up the great work!
I really like your blog as it is. I tend to scroll down and look at all the pictures first and then if I like what I see I read what the post is all about. If I really like all the projects I keep on scrolling down and looking at everything! I also agree, avoid music on your creative blogs. I don't mind them on the personal family blogs, but not so much on the creative ones. I come for ideas and support, not for the music. Keep up the great work! It's awesome what you've done so far.
ReplyDeletehello there, I like it when the blog is organized, especially by stamp sets as that makes such good sense to me, but categories are also good, I don't like music and I like it easy on the eye and easy to navigate, thanks for this opportunity to win, love your blog, glad I found it looking on Splitcoaststampers.

I usually arrive at blogs thorough other blogs :-. I first check at the current page. If there is a specific reason am there I will look at the links. If I can't find what I like I usually look for it via search option.
ReplyDeleteIt gets distracting when a blog has a lot of buttons at the side bars.
